VIETNAM VINYLS part 25
Nhat Truong / Phuoc Van - (unknown) 7" (Tan Thanh)
Some more western influenced tracks. A1 is a male/female -duet, A2 & B2 sung by Phuoc Van (female) & B1 by Nhat Truong (male). A1 to B1 are moody ballads (even though I don't understand what they are singing about), which I find easy to relate to because as a Finn we have a long history of melancholic tango and moody easy listening (even depressing at times). Last track is totally different genre with old school rock'n'roll and a twist beat.
Highly recommended even though A1 suffers from some serious surface noise (and that one is already fixed - so you can only imagine what the original unfixed piece sounded like).

VIETNAM VINYLS part 24
This is seriously frustrating issue. One of the viet vinyls I enjoy most, and the labels are totally trashed so I have no idea who the artists are!
Four tracks of easy-for-western-ears vintage popular music. A-side is comedy music (at least I hear it so refering to the singing style and the spoken intro), B-side is more serious crooner-style pop.
Especially on side A (and some old thai records I've heard) there is something that reminds me of old Jamaican ska records... maybe it is the sound of the horn section.

VIETNAM VINYLS part 23
Mỹ Châu, Thanh Sang / Lệ Thủy – Tình Đât Đơ Miên Đông / Là Thắm (Diahat, 00202-79-CN.2)
This time I present you one of the very few viet vinyls which have their own discogs page.
A side being a mixture of sweet mondo pop and trad. B side is completely more traditional song devoid of mondo exotica pop influences.
